H.B.R.C.B.

God has rescued us from the darkness of sin and transferred us into the Kingdom of His beloved Son. In His Son, we have redemption; we have forgiveness of sins (Colossians 1:13-14). God did not automatically do this to us. We participate in this process. When we have met certain requirements - when we have done cetain things - God adds us to His Son's Church.

Study of the scriptures reveals that there are five things that we must do - five requirements that we must meet - before God will transfer from serving sin to salvation in Christ. These five things are required in order to become a disciple of Christ - a Christian.

These five items are: Hear the Gospel; Believe in Jesus as Lord; Repent of our sinful condition; Confess Christ aloud; be Baptized into Christ.

H.B.R.C.B.  This is not a mantra, or a ritual, or a worn-out saying. This is not some ordinace devised by a religious body. It is a summary of the thinhg God requires of us in order to be saved.
