Creator, Redeemer and Judge

"We give thanks to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ" (Colossians 1:3).

"Your testimony is not valid (said the Pharisees)."  "My testimony IS valid," replied Jesus, "For I know where I came from and where I am going. But YOU have no idea where I come from or where I am going."

"You are from below, I am from above. You are of this world, I am NOT of this world. I told you that you would die in your sins. If you do not believe that I am the One I claim to be, you will indeed die in your sins."

"Who ARE you," the Pharisees asked. "Just what I have been claiming all along," Jesus replied.  (John 8:12-27)

Jesus said "I am WHAT I claim to be," not "I am WHO I claim to be." It's a subtle difference. In saying this He told them, not only was He "who" He said He was, but also, that where He came from, what He came to do, what His role was, what His relationship with the Father was, and where He was going... was the absolute TRUTH."

When we understand that Jesus is the Father's Son, and that He and the Father are One, then we fully appreciate Jesus' Lordship over us and His role as Creator, Redeemer, and Judge. (Genesis 1:26; John 1:1-3; Hebrews 1:2; Colossians 1:15-20; Galatians 3:13; Titus 2:14; 1 Peter 1:18-19; Hebrews 9:27-28; Acts 10:41-42; Acts 17:30-31; 2 Corinthians 5:9-10; 2 Timothy 4:1; 2 Timothy 4:8; Hebrews 12:28-29; Matthew 25:34; Matthew 25:41; 2 Peter 3:7; Revelation 20:15)

With all this scripture as evidence, aren't we able to fully appreciate Colossians 2:9? ... "For in Him, dwells all the fulness of the Godhead bodily (NKJV)" ... "For in Him all the fulness of Deity dwells in bodily form (NASB)",
